Parent Code of Conduct
We require that our Parents abide by the following Code of Conduct. We also encourage our Coaches to read and understand what is required of our Parents.
The purpose of this Code of Conduct is to help you make a commitment to yourself, your child, and everyone else you come in contact with during your child’s athletic experience. It is intended to promote a positive and respectful environment for all players, coaches, officials, and parents. Please take the time to read each of these statements, as well as the vision, mission, approach, and values and truly make a commitment to adhering to them to the best of your ability.
- I will keep in mind that it is a privilege for my child to participate in a sport rather than a right.
- I will model good sportsmanship at competitions by the way I treat all athletes, coaches, officials, and other fans.
- I will insist that my child always demonstrates good sportsmanship and treats other athletes, coaches, officials, and spectators with respect.
- I will encourage my child to practice courage by talking with the coaches about any issues and concerns they may have.
- I will teach my child how to win and lose with grace by the way I act in each of those situations.
- I will teach my child the importance of honoring the game, competing with integrity, and will not help him or her cheat in any manner.
- I will remember that while I am not an athlete, I am representing my child’s teams at competitions.
- I will strive to work with my child’s coach and not against him or her.
- I will refrain from coaching my child immediately before, during, and immediately after competitions because of the potential negative effect it may have on my child’s performance and overall sport experience.
- I will remember that I have had my opportunity in athletics and this experience is about my child.
- I will have a basic understanding of the rules of my child’s sport.
- I will ALWAYS tell my child that I am proud and love him or her after every competitive event.
I acknowledge that the privilege of participating with this program may be taken away should I or my athlete consistently violate this Code of Conduct after repeated conversations and remediation attempts with Coaches and Administrators.
Coach Code of Conduct
We require that our Coaches abide by the following Code of Conduct. We also encourage our Parents to read and understand what is required of our Coaches.
The purpose of this Code of Conduct is to help you make a commitment to yourself, your athletes, and everyone else you come in contact with during your coaching athletic experience. It is intended to promote a positive and respectful environment for all players, coaches, officials, and parents. Please take the time to read each of these statements, as well as the vision, mission, approach, and values and truly make a commitment to adhering to them to the best of your ability.

- I will refrain from any form of abuse, harassment, discrimination, or violence towards anyone.
- I will control my emotions and avoid any language or gestures that are offensive, provocative, or demeaning.
- I will maintain a healthy lifestyle and avoid any substance that could impair my judgment or performance when I am with my team.
- I will maintain an active USA Lacrosse Membership and, at a minimum, obtain Bronze Level Coaching Certification.
- I will follow the policies and procedures of the organization I coach for.
- I will plan and conduct practices and games that are safe, fun, and developmentally appropriate.
- I will teach the skills and strategies of the sport in a clear and positive way.
- I will evaluate the performance of the players and myself in a constructive and honest manner.
- I will treat each player as an individual and respect their unique needs, goals, and abilities.
- I will provide each player with equal attention, instruction, and opportunities.
- I will encourage each player to reach their full potential and enjoy the sport.
- I will recognize and reward the effort, improvement, and achievement of each player.
- I will communicate with each player and their parents or guardians in a respectful and timely way.
- I will cooperate and collaborate with other coaches, officials, administrators, and volunteers.
- I will support and respect the decisions of the officials and accept them without argument.
- I will be courteous and gracious towards the coaches and players of the opposing team.
- I will PRIORITIZE that players receive equal opportunities to play during competition.
- I will PRIORITIZE that players learn and compete in multiple positions.
